GreenSeries helps build LEED home in Oregon

Last year, the Henkel Professional and Consumer Adhesives Division partnered with Merle Weiner of Eugene, Oregon. She and her family heard about building green and wanted to use our OSI® Green Series™ products. Merle was targeting LEED certification and was delighted to learn our products would help, as we learned we would have multiple opportunities for press exposure.
One benefit of our collaboration with the home owners was our exposure on the Lane County Home Builder's Association's Tour of Homes, www.Tourofhomes.com, this past summer. The home was of special interest because it was the only home that is seeking LEED certification on this year's tour, and only the third in Lane County, Merle created a museum-like atmosphere in the home, by providing information cards to help educate those on the tour about the products utilized. All sponsors were credited on the cards. A takeaway sheet was provided to all of those who toured their home, with additional information regarding the companies and products utilized in the building of their home.
To further showcase their new home project, the homeowners are creating a website which will mention the many companies who partnered with them to make their home a reality. Other companies include Sherwin-Williams, James Hardie and Rubbermaid to name a few. The website should launch within the next two months, also further showcasing OSI Green Series products.
Eugene Magazine will be doing a feature story on this LEED certified home in the Spring/Summer 2011 edition. In this article, Merle plans on emphasizing the use of our Green Series products, which is another excellent opportunity to get the word out about our products.
The exposure presented by this opportunity, as well as having a very satisfied homeowner touting our products, is quite rewarding and helps build awareness and sales of our OSI brand and Green Series line of products.
